What Our Guest Say!
Perfect - "We had just one night to stay on the coast and I wanted a beach front room. All of the downtown hotels were booked as there was a basketball tournament in town. We tried one last place, Tides by the Sea , which is about a mile south of downtown Seaside. The room was beautiful, clean, oceanfront, quiet and very reasonably priced. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you!"
Exactly what I wanted! - "The Tides are located just under a mile from "downtown" Seaside, and as such, are in a quiet location. There is nothing between the buildings and the beach except a buffer area, so it is a short walk to the beach. I really liked coming here, because I get so tired of cramped motel rooms, and here we have lots of room, a fireplace, and a kitchenette with an apartment sized fridge instead of a micro fridge. Yes, the facilities are a bit older, but the amenities and location more than make up for it, and I consider it a good value for the price paid. We walked down to the beach just before sunset to see what the clam diggers were up to, and I'll upload a picture of it if I can."
Liked — The quiet location near the beach.
Disliked — There was nothing to dislike.
The kitchen was fully stocked, the views were incredible - both straight out to the ocean and through the living room window to the north.
There was a comfortable king bed in one room and two twins in the other. We added our portable crib to the second room and there was still plenty of space. There was also a pullout sofa in the living room.
I did notice that there was no air conditioning, but I really doubt you would ever need it on the coast there. At night, we watched the sunset over the ocean, bonfires on the beach in front of us, and fireworks (it was just before the 4th of July).
We plan on going back if we can get that same unit.
I will never stay anywhere but The Tides. I have stayed in multiple units. As a family we love 160…As me only I love 157 and 158. 133 is where we have stayed multiple times as a family, before discovering 160 and the cottages. I love everything about this place. You can do no wrong staying here.
