What Our Guest Say!
"I love the location and the rooms were nice" ... "It was the perfect location" ... "The room was beautiful, clean, oceanfront, quiet and very reasonably priced" ... "Beds were pillow-top and very restful" ... "THIS WAS GREAT!!" - tripadvisor.com, insiderpages.com
Perfect - "We had just one night to stay on the coast and I wanted a beach front room. All of the downtown hotels were booked as there was a basketball tournament in town. We tried one last place, Tides by the Sea , which is about a mile south of downtown Seaside. The room was beautiful, clean, oceanfront, quiet and very reasonably priced. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you!"
Exactly what I wanted! - "The Tides are located just under a mile from "downtown" Seaside, and as such, are in a quiet location. There is nothing between the buildings and the beach except a buffer area, so it is a short walk to the beach. I really liked coming here, because I get so tired of cramped motel rooms, and here we have lots of room, a fireplace, and a kitchenette with an apartment sized fridge instead of a micro fridge. Yes, the facilities are a bit older, but the amenities and location more than make up for it, and I consider it a good value for the price paid. We walked down to the beach just before sunset to see what the clam diggers were up to, and I'll upload a picture of it if I can."
Liked — The quiet location near the beach.
Disliked — There was nothing to dislike.
The kitchen was fully stocked, the views were incredible - both straight out to the ocean and through the living room window to the north.
There was a comfortable king bed in one room and two twins in the other. We added our portable crib to the second room and there was still plenty of space. There was also a pullout sofa in the living room.
I did notice that there was no air conditioning, but I really doubt you would ever need it on the coast there. At night, we watched the sunset over the ocean, bonfires on the beach in front of us, and fireworks (it was just before the 4th of July).
We plan on going back if we can get that same unit.
Returning visitor-great time! - "I have stayed at the Tides numerous times during the past 12 years. It was initially a great girlfriend hang out. The seven of us had a great time in unit 169. We loved the size of the unit and the upstairs that has a couple queen beds and an ocean view. Since I got married my husband and I have stayed here a few times we love room 134 over the office. It has a view of the ocean from the dining area. We loved the furnishings it has a great romantic feel. I have stayed in a number of the other units which have been nice. Some of the units need to be updated. With that said even the most groovy room has a nostalgic feel. I know you'll have a great time, I ALWAYS have!"
Nice Property With Amazing Views! - "We stayed here for 4 nights for $90/night this past June which was an excellent rate for the upstairs corner room with panoramic views of the ocean. Our room had a small kitchen, completely stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. a dishwasher, microwave, etc. The views from the dining room were awesome. The room also had a fireplace and a complete separate room for our teenage daughter. We enjoyed swims in the pool here each evening which was very nicely heated. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly and did not charge us extra for a Fri. night stay. The location is right at Ave U with beautiful views of the ocean and was great for our surfing needs. This is a great place to stay with a family in Seaside."
Best Family 4th of July - "Our family absolutely loved our stay! We have 2 children, ages 10 & 5 and they both had a great time. We reserved a one bedroom condo (with a sleeper sofa) on the upper floor with a view of the ocean. You could've just sat in the condo all day watching the surf, it was so nice."
"One of the best things about The Tides was the heated outdoor pool. It was VERY heated and wonderful - rain or shine - and no sand to worry about! "
"The Tides is located at the end of the prom. It was the perfect location. You could spend the day in town - at the shops, eating, playing, the aquarium; then come back home to build a campfire, beach comb and roast marshmallows right on the beach in your backyard!"
"The 4th of July was phenomenal!! We had never seen anything like it - and we're adults!! The formal display on the prom was amazing, but the beach was filled with families shooting off their own displays - everywhere you looked! Even if you hadn't brought your own, there would've been plenty to see."
